What now?

Everybody has a guiding light! But that depends on who you are following. And that depends on how honest you are with yourself. For a normal recovery troop, he or she will say they are following their own recovery. Which goes with my recovery my way. Basically, recovery folks set their own guiding light. That may be God as they understand Him or Her which depends on the choices of the spiritual journey they are on. This drives the faith folks around the bend. It seems so self-authored and sloppy and unholy.

So what determines the guiding light to faith folks? To some, the bible is their go-to place to guide them. But they do reserve the right to choose the church where the Word to chopped up and fed to them. What could go wrong here? For all of church history that choice leads people to the good stuff and out to lunch stuff. Here you would think it is just flavor choices. Not so. A good churchgoer who is esteemed in their church can find themselves enmeshed in the political things which are out in the ozone. Whole churches have meshed themselves in politics. And the range of politics runs from almost fascist ideology to almost new-age communal ideas. These are choices. These choices are your legacy to your family and your friends. My job is to point out the choices and the consequence of these choices.

My belief is they we are answerable for our choices. And our choices affect our family. Thank God for Grace! We are sheep who wander into brier patches. But in the end, The Lord may be tired of pulling you out of your bad choices. There comes a time where stupid just gets the fruit of stupid. If you want wise you can find it. If you search for it! In this way, Faith folks and recovery folks are the same. Ask God to guide you in a good way. And do not throw the bible out because it says stuff you don’t like.
