I had a conversation today that underlined an itch I have been having for some time. Both Faith Troops and Recovery troops can be judgemental about each other. Which I understand. But when judgment morphs to disrespect and ignorance that torques my jaws. My friend who I have known for a long time told me about CR troops coming to an AA meeting and leaving fliers for their CR group. They left fliers without permission for which they were corrected. As a person who teaches in CR, I offer my apology and am ashamed. Though I am not surprised. Christian’s sins are many, but arrogance is especially distasteful. And I know they are without remorse. They are simply proselytizing the unwashed heathens. We Christians do not deserve to be heard when we act that way.
In a time when a Christian has to excuse our tribal political foolishness in some wings of our faith, I have to shrug and say my tribe is not even potty trained yet.
Get a grip! AA’s primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to stay sober. That is what they do there. You wander in ignorantly and dump on their primary focus! Have you no fear of the Lord you serve? Those AA’s are the objects of HIs love and concern. You come in with your arrogance and make a needless and stupid statement. And you can’t even keep the drunks in your meetings clean and sober. You should be sending them to AA.
I am loyal to Jesus. But I am not loyal to a tribe when they do stupid. End of Rant!
